Report: Ankara has no plans to abandon imports of Russian gas
ANKARA, Oct 14 (PRIME) -- Ankara and Moscow have no problems with cooperation in the energy sector and Turkey has no plans to abandon imports of Russian gas, Turkish Energy and Foreign Resources Minister Ali R?za Alaboyun said in an interview with news agency Anadolu on Wednesday.
“It should be known that we have no problems with Russia in the field of energy. Russia is a good supplier for us, and we are good buyers for it, we import about 60% of gas from Russia,” he said.
“Rejecting Russian gas is absolutely out of the question for us. Even if some problems exist, we will find ways to solve them.”
Earlier on Wednesday the minister said that Russia and Turkey also have no problems with construction of Akkuyu nuclear power plant, which is implemented on schedule.
Russian gas giant Gazprom exported 27.4 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey in 2014.
